On a scale from 1 - 10, I would rate my physical health a 4, my spiritual well being a 3 or 4, and my psychological well being a 3 as well. I don't look so great, do I? Well, I'm young and I'm just starting in on my wellness journey. I'm okay with these numbers. Maybe that means my psychological well being number is higher!
I would like to become more spiritual but I feel like I'd like to be more spiritual with nature. When asked what my religion is, I say Catholic but frankly that doesn't mean much to me. It is something that we did a little bit of when growing up but not much. I'd like to be more in tune with nature I think. It sounds more interesting to me. I also have been trying yoga and fitness classes that are more stretching, breathing, and relaxing. I'm enjoying the quietness of these classes when they give you time at the end to breath and relax. It's great!
I'm on my way with fitness as well. I'm trying more fitness classes at my gym. I'm working them into my work and personal life schedule. I've learned you have to make "appointments" to maintain the commitment.
My fitness goal is to attend 3 or more classes a week for the next 2 weeks. I'm trying to make it a habit!
My spiritual goal is to get completely through one of these meditation exercises. I feel kind of weird doing them. So I will try to complete one fully in the next week or so.
I did try the exercise posted and I didn't make it far. I find that I like listening to a woman's voice better than a man's, I'm not sure why. I guess I just expect a woman's voice for some reason. Anyway, I got to the part about the red coming out of my spine and into the floor...not to sure about that one!
Lori-I hope that the appointment method works for you! It's a good idea. I agree with you about feeling weird doing the exercises. During the color exercise I started thinking of the Care Bears and that was it for the exercise! haha! I am starting a fitness class on Thursday and I'm a little nervous. ReplyDeleteHaha! That is funny about the care bears since I have those all over the house! Good luck with your class - it is intimidating sometimes but frankly I've realized everyone there is more concerned with themselves then with anyone else!

Lori I'm glad for you being able to start exercising like you want to. It is good that you are young if you are not happy with your numbers then you have enough time to improve. Lori sometimes you have to try out different religions to find the right one that suites you. I am with you on that I think that I would enjoy listening to a woman's voice rather than a man's voice.
ReplyDeleteHi Lor, great post, I love your honesty! Well it sounds like we have something in common. We are both busy people and don't always take time for ourselves to relax and enjoy life. I think you have a really good sense of humor and I agree your psychological number must be higher than the rest. lol I agree with you completely, I to have found it to be easier to keep commitments if I make appointments. I guess its true I need to make an apt. with myself but for some reason it’s easier to talk myself out of doing something then someone else. lol (for example I love my sleep) I would rather sleep in then wake early for exercise time. Anyways, that is my room for improvement. I know you will be able to get through a meditation, or maybe it will be a better meditation for you to take a walk through nature and reflect on things, or quiet your mind and just breathe in nature’s air. This is a form a meditation as well, especially if you can grow from the experience. Good luck to you in class.
