OK, so I tried to do the exercise. I got comfy on my bed and put the CD in the computer. First it was fine but I do have a very hard time in doing these types of exercises. I'm all about breathing and sort of concentrating on that like after a yoga class but it is difficult for me to do it at home. I just have so much going on right now it's hard to concentrate.
Anyway, that being said, a few minutes into listening to the woman talk about breath and the ocean sounds in the background, the CD went all staticky! It was weird and it hurt my ears totally bringing me out of any meditation mood. :( I've never had a CD do that before.
Hi Lori, I think that most of the class had the same experience. I tried the exercise from the book without the CD. It wasn't the perfect answer but it was better than all that static :)
ReplyDeleteLori,
ReplyDeleteI also had static on my CD. I was doing the exercise and all of a sudden there's this blaring static. I tried to sit and breathe for a while longer and think of ocean sounds in my mind but it wasn't as easy!
Hi Lor
ReplyDeleteSounds like everyone had the same experience with the C.D.? Mine did the same. Instead I put in another C.D that was the sound of rain and continued to do the exercise as described in our text. It is still a difficult exercise to do. Quieting the mind isn't easy especially when we are bombarded with so much mental stimulation and distractions. But I do believe it will be worth practicing. Hang in Lor, your doing great!
